Apologies for the late report on this and the rest of the May shows – holidays and visitors could be blamed, but are no real excuse.
This was a continuation of the ongoing battle between House Belleville and House Watercroft, with a dash of Blakens and Kinsridge thrown into the mix to add to the interest – Game of Thrones eat your heart out eh!
CH WATERCROFT CALLING TIME (Ch Strathinver Sea The Stars x Watercroft Top Tipple) came out on top of the Dogs again, with Karvo & Seiloo’s BLAKENS LOOK THE PART (Ch Blakens I Look To You x Ch Blakens Sugar Candy Kisses) taking the Res CC, following up his CC at National Terrier. He was handled as usual by Jackie Phillips.
The top spots in the Bitches was a repeat of Manchester and WELKS, with CH WATERCROFT PINK FIZZ, known affectionately as “Fizzbomb” getting the CC and BELLEVILLE IN THE BLACK, (Ch Belleville Seduction out of Ch Allright Black Bess taking the Res CC.
The Best Puppy spot went to KINSRIDGE CULTURE CLUB (Yarrow Venerie Christmas Cracknor x Kinsridge Club Classic) - he was Best Puppy and RBIS at the NTCGB Spring Show in April, so a good start to his showing career.
The National is one of the Shows now running a Special Beginners Group, and it was great to see Alison Hadfield’s BELLEVILLE BORN TO BE FREE (Watercroft Gold Coin x Belleville Free Roll) go Group 1 – another great group placing for the breed.
