Born into dogs, I have lived with dogs all my life and began handling my Mum’s Lowmita Norfolk Terriers from an early age.
I became a member of the Kennel Club Junior Organisation (KCJO), now the Young Kennel Club (YKC) and handled both Norfolk and Lakeland Terriers in KCJO Handling and Stakes Classes. My highest achievement was coming second in the Terrier Stakes Final at Crufts with my Lakeland Terrier, Milly. I also attended three KCJO Summer Camps were I enjoyed trying other doggy disciplines including obedience and agility. There was also great opportunities to improve my handling skills.

I also became a member of the Junior Handling Association (JHA) as I qualified many times for the Semi-Finals at Richmond many times. Unfortunately I was only able to compete there twice. The first time I handled Bella and gained a sixth place and the second time a second place with Milly in 1997.
With my Junior Handling days behind me I continue to show my Mum’s Norfolk Terriers and have recently bought a Portuguese Podengo, Honey. Who I look forward to showing in the Hound Import Register Classes. |

I also enjoy judging Junior Handling Classes and have been honoured to judge the JHA Terrier 6-11 years Semi-Final at Richmond in 2006 and The Junior Handling National Final in Australia in 2005. I am also doing more and more breed judging, mainly Norfolk Terriers but I have also judged other Terrier breeds.
I love showing my dogs and can see me continuing to enjoy it for many, many years. I have lots of wonderful memories of my time as a ‘Junior’ and I now do all I can to encourage other young people who show an interest. I just hope that above all they enjoy their time as a ‘Junior’ as much as I did.
I hope you enjoy the website.
