A week after City of Birmingham is Richmond Championship Show, the Terrier Group was on Saturday 9th September. The show has found it home now near Guildford in Surrey at Loseley Park, where there is also a famous herd of Jersey cows whose creamy milk is responsible for their renowned ice cream.

Norfolk specialist, Cathy Thompson-Morgan (Belleville) was the judge. Surprisingly the same number of 15 dogs and 15 bitches were entered, but there were just 2 absentees amongst the dogs, while 4 bitches did not appear, so a total of 30 entries with 24 exhibits present.

Jill Stevenson won a 2nd CC and Best of Breed with BRICKIN POT OF PICKLE beating both his top male rivals in the process today. He is sired by Ch Watercroft In A Pickle (Strathinver Smart Enough – Watercroft Hot Love) out of Brickin Wild Ivy, a daughter of Jill’s Ch Penmire Wild Bramble By Brickin out of Brickin Steal A Look, a Brickin Smart Outlook daughter.

The RCC went to CH MARCHDENS MARK MY WORDS, confirmation of his title by the Kennel Club came after entries had closed. He is by Moortop Marks Delivery out of Lady Miss Cheif, and so far no other offspring have been registered by this sire in the Breed Supplements. Denise Horne has puppies from a repeat mating to come out in due time.

Many congratulations go to Ruth Gee whose CH* WATERCROFT PICK OF THE POPS at last won her 3rd qualifying CC. She has been on the brink all this year, having won 2 CCs last year. She is by Ch Blakens Pay Back out of Ch Watercroft Top Of The Pops. She also has 2 RCCs won this year.

To add to her good day, WATERCROFT GOLD DUST at her first championship show won Best Puppy and then went on to be placed 2nd in the Puppy Group from the Judge, Mrs Sandra M Marshall. She was sired by Ch Kinsridge Cash Back out of Ch Watercroft Top Tia, a litter sister of Ch Watercroft Top Of The Pops, so it was a triumph for the first cousins.
