STAFFORDSHIRE SHOW GROUND, STAFFORD
BEST OF BREED: CH WATERCROFT CALLING TIME
DOG CC: CH WATERCROFT CALLING TIME
RES DOG CC: BELLEVILLE MAJOR KEY
BEST BITCH: WATERCROFT PINK FIZZ
RES BEST BITCH: BELLEVILLE BACK TO BLACK
BEST PUPPY: WATERCROFT COIN OF THE REALM
BEST VETERAN: JACQUIDON TOUGH AS A NUT
CCs were on offer for the breed for the first time at this show and judge Tom Johnston had an entry of 42 (19 dogs, 23 bitches) to go over, with 6 absentees.
Yet another cracking show for the Watercroft kennel, taking three of the four top spots: the Dog CC and Bitch CC went to CH WATERCROFT CALLING TIME and CH WATERCROFT PINK FIZZ respectively. It was a reverse of Boston for the BOB, with the dog taking it this time. Ruth Gee’s 7mth old youngster WATERCROFT COIN OF THE REALM was at her first Championship Show and made a great start to her showing career taking Best Puppy from the Junior Bitch class. She is by Watercroft Gold Coin out of Watercroft Popcorn.
Cathy Thompson’s Belleville kennel also had a good show, taking both the Res Dog CC and Res Bitch CC, BELLEVILLE MAJOR KEY (by Belleville Slip Stream out of Belleville Keynote) and BELLEVILLE BACK TO BLACK (by Ch Belleville Seduction out of Ch Allright Black Bess) doing the honours respectively. Major Key stormed onto the scene at SWKA last year taking the CC and BOB, and was then Res CC at LKA. Back To Black had a number of Best Puppy placings last year so is progressing up the ranks nicely, but please don’t say it’s going to be another run of Res CCs for Cathy this year!!
Following on from his Best Veteran in Show wins at the MCNTA’s Championship Show and the NTCGB’s Christmas Show was Edwina Darnell’s home bred 7 year old dog, JACQUIDON TOUGH AS A NUT. He is by Ch Kinsridge Top Gun out of Little Sniffer, and he will no doubt add a sprinkle of competition to the Veteran classes this year.
No group placings to report on this occasion.
